Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 developer Warhorse Studios has revealed the staggering scale of the game’s upcoming update, boasting an incredible 34 pages of patch notes. Following its highly successful launch in February, the historical RPG is gearing up for its first major content update with patch 1.2, packed with new features and a wealth of crucial bug fixes that aim to refine the player experience significantly.
A Massive Update Arrives March 13
Earlier this week, Warhorse Studios officially confirmed that the much-anticipated update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will arrive on Thursday, March 13. This extensive patch will be free for all players across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, introducing a brand-new barber feature, modding support for PC users, and a comprehensive list of bug fixes.
The last update, released in February, focused primarily on stability improvements, quest fixes, and platform-specific adjustments. However, with numerous lingering bugs still affecting gameplay, Warhorse Studios is now preparing to roll out what might be the game’s most significant update yet.
34 Pages of Fixes and Features
In a recent Twitter post, Warhorse Studios PR Manager Tobias Stolz-Zwilling announced that patch 1.2’s patch notes span a jaw-dropping 34 pages, underscoring the sheer volume of tweaks and improvements.
While the standout addition in this update is undoubtedly the barber feature, which allows players to customize protagonist Henry’s hairstyles and beard options, it’s the exhaustive list of bug fixes and performance optimizations that will make the biggest impact. Additionally, PC players can rejoice, as the update will introduce official modding support via Steamworks, granting users the freedom to tweak and expand the massive RPG to their liking.
Hardcore Mode Still on Hold
Despite the update’s wealth of content, players eagerly awaiting the game’s Hardcore mode will have to be patient a little longer. Warhorse Studios has yet to confirm whether the mode will be included in patch 1.2.
For those unfamiliar, Hardcore mode pushes Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s realism to the extreme, eliminating HUD elements such as the player’s position on the map and cardinal directions on the compass. Additionally, players will be required to choose three out of ten negative perks that persist throughout their entire playthrough. These range from “Bad Luck,” which reduces carry capacity and increases the risk of back strain, to “Heavy-Footed,” which causes shoes to wear down faster while increasing the amount of noise players make.
A Fix for the Infamous Rain?
While Hardcore mode remains in limbo, many players are more concerned about one of the game’s most persistent annoyances—its broken rain system. Since launch, players have voiced frustration over the game’s constant, intrusive rain, which continues indoors, underground, and even in caves, often accompanied by misplaced thunder and lightning effects.
Fortunately, patch 1.2 is expected to address many of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s most glaring bugs and visual inconsistencies, and fans are hoping that the frustrating weather issue will finally be resolved.
With 34 pages of patch notes, a wealth of new features, and major fixes, patch 1.2 is shaping up to be a game-changing update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Players won’t have to wait much longer, as March 13 is just around the corner.
